Several weeks ago Shepherdstown Fire Department announced the deployment of its new Live-In program, which allows members to live at the station with the comforts of home in exchange for responding to calls and working around the station.  We're pleased to say that plans are on schedule to implent the program and applications are now being accepted.  The announcement period opens today, April 17, and will remain open until all vacancies are filled.  For more information on the program or to apply click here.

The VA Medical Center, outside Martinsburg, had a flag rope come loose.  Shepherdstown Fire Department to the rescue!  With a lift from Truck 3, firefighters were able to fix the problem.  'And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave.'

Wreck on Edgewood School Rd PDF Print E-mail

Around 11:00am crews were dispatched for a single vehicle collision into a tree on Edgewood School Road off of Ridge Road just outside Shepherdstown. Shepherdstown's Medic 3, Rescue 3 and Engine 3-1 and Independent's Rescue 4 and Medic 4 along with Jefferson County Ambulance Authority's ALS-11 paramedic unit responded.  A 19 year old female was pronounced dead at the scene.  A landing zone was set up at the Shepherdstown Fire Department where a 16 year old male was flown by helicopter to Winchester Medical Center.
